What is SG Stock Alert?

This apps allows you to receive push notification alerts for stocks listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange. At the moment, alerts related to SGX announcements, price and volume targets are available. Please read the FAQ page within the app for more information.

Requirement

Installation

Depending on the model of Android device you have and the OS version it runs, installing this app involves downloading SGStockAlert.apk, available below, to your device and install through Settings or My Files app. To uninstall SG Stock Alert, go to Settings\Applications Manager, select SG Stock Alert, then Uninstall.

To turn off notifications, go to Android Settings\Applications Manager, select SG Stock Alert, then uncheck "Show notifications"

(1) Charts could not be displayed properly.
If you have loaded the Chart page and the chart is not showing up, click the Draw Chart button.

(2) Company announcements could not be loaded properly.
This version downloads a copy of the PDF file to your device. You may then choose your PDF viewer to view the file.

If you cannot locate a counter, there is a good chance this counter has changed its code. In this case, you may need to refresh the database.

  • Goto to the '+' add counter tab
  • Click the 3 vertical button icon on the right
  • Refresh the data from server
  • Search the counter you require

If you encounter a message saying "SG Stock Alert has stopped working", please quit and re-launch the app. Please also refer to the FAQ page to perform a self-test of the Android push notification.

Important Note: If your organization has a firewall that restricts the traffic to or from the Internet, you'll need to configure it to allow connectivity with Google. The ports to open are: 5228, 5229, and 5230. This means you may or may not receive Android push notification using the wifi either in your office or home depending on the router settings. This is not an issue with LTE/3G/GPRS. Please refer to the FAQ to perform a simple self test.
